Contrary to Popular Belief............

I did not fall off the face of the earth. And thank you Nancy and Michelle for caring enough to ask if everything was OK. I have just been too busy to blog. Work has been a madhouse. Hours have been crazy. I shouldn't complain, because I am self employed, and I have worked very hard to get to the point we are at. I've been coming home in the evenings, and I look at the computer, and think, I should update - I'm too tired, I'll do it tomorrow. Enough moaning and complaining.

I have been working on my pottery every spare chance I get as well, because I have a big sale coming up in two weeks. Below, I have shown pictures of the first 3 sheep I've made. The first one here is a little one that I've made into an HST.

I do have to reglaze these 3 sheep, as I encountered an unexpected problem with my clear overglaze - and it's flaking off.


I also have an order of new underglaze colours coming this week. The range of browns is not
the greatest, I'm not happy with the brown on the face of the ram - it's too muddy. I've placed an order with a company in Western Canada for several new colours of glaze, unfortunately, shipping can take forever sometimes. I have 5 more of these sheep in the bisque kiln right now. I also have 20 of the tiny sheep in the kiln too. My next bisque load should be done in a few days. I'll glaze them after the pottery sale, then they'll be posted on my blog.

On to other business. There will be lambs born at Kalwa Taure this spring after all.

A friend and fellow shepherdess, Shauna Gray, has sold her farm. Until she gets another farm up and running, I am sheepsitting a few of her mioget ewes. They have all been exposed to the ram - so - in Mid-May, we'll see what happens. I will try to post a few pictures of these girls this weekend. Until then...
